Project B4: Statistical process modelling for machining of inhomogeneous mineral subsoil

Abstract

The project B4 examines the physical decomposition processes during machining of the inhomogeneous multi-phase material concrete with diamond tools. An improved understanding of the chip removal process will be obtained by differentiated examination of the single components and different phase boundaries of concrete. Due to the large number of influencing parameters, models of the process behaviour are developed using statistical design of experiments. By this, an optimisation of wear behaviour and the material removal rate can be facilitated by adapted tools and process parameters.
